I'm constantly writing about how much we all love being outdoors as a family. I hate sitting indoors everyday as I feel like I'm getting cabin fever! C loves to play and run around and E at only 9 months old likes have a good nosey around her at all the sights.
Chris has always been one for nature and when we got together, he introduced me to loads of outdoor sites that I'd previously never seen before. Now, everyday that Chris is off work and we have the day together as a family, we'll be outside and we have lots planned for this summer.
1) Picnics in the park
This is C's favourite ever thing to do. He loves being in the play park and having a go on the swings then tucking into a sandwich or cocktail sausage after building up his appetite. We have a few favourite places to do that here in NI, with Botanic Gardens, Marlborough Park or Musgrave Park being our absolute favourites.
2) Feeding the ducks
C has been to feed the three times in his whole life. If we take a walk up the Lagan Towpath we can feed the ducks and view all the beautiful sights around the River Lagan. There are loads of open fields for C to run wild or maybe have a scoot on his new scooter or ride on his bike!
3) Camping
I have never ever done proper camping. We have never camped as a family. This is something that Chris is very into and now that C is getting older, we know he'd love the idea of sleeping outside and being able to see the stars. With living in Northern Ireland, you can never be 100% sure on what the weather will be like so we'll be hitting up Cotswold Outdoor for some essentials so we're equipped for all eventualities.
4) Tall Ships Belfast 2015
From July 2nd - July 5th, Tall Ships from across the globe will anchor in Belfast for the start of the Tall Ships Races 2015. There will be a Titanic Maritime Festival packed full of stuff to do for all the family and lots of food stalls too. I can't wait to see C's little face when he sees all the "big boats" and I know he'll enjoy the fireworks too.
