Mumkind are a new pregnancy nutrition brand designed specifically for mums-to-be and super busy new mums. Their range includes flavoured water enhancers, chocolate nutrition bars, bedtime hot drinks and ginger lozenges and they are available to buy at Sainsbury's and Amazon.
Mumkind wanted to make sure that pregnancy women got their nutrition from food rather than tablets. They are backed by nutritionists and doctors.
I first heard about Mumkind a matter of days before E was born so I was unable to try the products as a pregnant lady. After she was born, I received the Water Our Way water enhancer (£2.99) and Ginger Me Baby lozenges (£3.49).
I don't drink a lot of water. I could probably go an entire day without having a drink or anything at all. I was always getting a slap on the wrists from midwives during my pregnancy because they said I wasn't drinking enough water. I find it hard to force myself to drink water as its so plain and if I add squash to it, I have to have it really concentrated.
The Water Our Way water enhancer is mixed berry flavoured and you only put one little squeeze into your glass of water. It barely colours the water at all but you can really taste the flavouring. I'm quite annoyed now that I didn't know about it during my pregnancy. It's easily carried around in your handbag and each bottle makes 10 drinks. I honestly felt like it perked me up a little due to the blend of B vitamins which combat tiredness and fatigue. Just what I need with doing night feeds and looking after a newborn and 2 year old! It also has 0 calories and 0 carbs so you need not worry about pumping your body full of unhealthy things.
I'll be honest and say that I was a little worried about the Ginger Me Baby lozenges. I had awful morning sickness with both C and E and everyone would always tell me to nibble on ginger biscuits but if I'm honest, they made me feel worse! Ginger was not a flavour that I liked. These ginger and chamomile lozenges weren't too horrendous though. Yes, you can taste the flavour but I could definitely tolerate them I think it's because I wasn't swallowing them whole, sucking on them made it easier. They will definitely help any newly pregnant lady who is suffering with morning sickness.
I love that they're in a little tub (which can then be reused for whatever you like as its microwaveable and suitable for the freezer) and the fact that they are individually wrapped.
Mumkind have been kind enough to offer my readers the chance to win 2 tubs of Ginger Me Baby lozenges and 2 bottles of mixed berry flavour water enhancer. All you need to do is fill in the Rafflecopter widget below. The competition will run for 2 weeks and the prize will be supplied directly from Mumkind. UK entrants only please. Good luck!
