My dad is the best, a big gentle giant - he is a tall stocky man who is very loving and always has my best interests at heart - when I need it there is no where safer then a hug in his arms.
ReplyDeleteHe has and will drop everything when I have needed him too, and has sacrificed many weekends helping my husband and I decorate our home.
In turn we take him on holiday with us every year, and he dotes on our little boys wrestling with them on the floor and always bearing little sweeties in his coat pocket every time he arrives.
My husband in turn is a wonderful daddy to our two little boys, whether it be trying to help them learning to read, spending many an hour trying to coax the removal of armbands or running behind a bike with no stabilisers.
My little boys dote on his every word and nothing is more fun with anyone else then an hour spent in the garden with their daddy looking for bugs or out picking blueberries along the hedgerows and coming back with stained hands.
He is not too scared to show his emotions and is always sneaking cuddles on the sofa, telling them he loves them and planting kisses all over their little faces.
When mummy needs to go to work that is famously known as a "Yorkie Day" i.e. its not for girls and they get up too all manners of things, by the time I get home they are usually already in the bath so all traces of their mischief is washed away.
I wouldn't change him for the world, the best daddy for my little boys I could have ever chosen.
It will be for my husband. Hes a fab dad, even if he is a grumpy old git. x
